With the latest update of Challengermode, we have expanded our library of available games. In addition to improved features for organizers, the platform now features a full spectrum of genres —from sports and real-time strategy titles to popular mobile games, all of which are available for anyone to create tournaments in.

We talked to three organizers that are among the first to explore new titles on the platform. Our goal was to learn how this update impacts grassroots-level esports — by giving them the ability to diversify their content and cater to a broader audience.

The fantastic people behind Diabolus helped us fail-proof our World of Warcraft integration by hosting their grimly named arena tournament, Deathbowl. The tournament was a success and Diabolus is sure to be a household name for World of Warcraft on Challengermode.

“The Deathbowl was a fantastic opportunity to try new formats and bring some of the crazy Warcraft pre-patch PVP to a tournament setting. […] Hosting tournaments in Warcraft gives us the opportunity to directly engage with our core audience, which is Warcraft PVPers.”
- Ash, CEO of Diabolus

Phoenix Blue consists of young, passionate esports enthusiasts dedicated to making high-quality esports available to all Swedes. They live and breathe grassroots and want to make sure anyone and everyone is able to experience it with them. Their recently announced tournament series Fall Series is the organization's biggest undertaking yet, featuring over 25 tournaments in eight different titles with over €4,000 in total prize money.

“In past years, Phoenix Blue has had a large focus on the games in the Super Smash Bros franchise, where we found our niche. Having both Super Smash Bros Melee and Ultimate be a part of the Fall Series lineup was a given, and being able to add more titles, such as League of Legends and Counter-Strike, is incredibly exciting as we expand what we can offer to the Swedish esports community.”
- Kasper Kamateros, Chairman

Connecting Esports is made up of a handful of people who strive to build a successful and recognizable esports organization. They’re already a well-known name on the platform and with the addition of Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War, they’re partnering up with Gamers Vault to bring the first-ever CoD tournament onto Challengermode.

“We believe the CoD scene is very well established on a pro-level but the amateur part of the community has been left out these last couple of years. With the possibility to host tournaments in CoD on Challengermode, we look to provide more competitive circuits from an amateur to semi-pro level.”
- Jasen07, Co-Owner
