Aaah, the anti-cheat the CS:GO community loves to hate. EAC is like that slice of pizza that’s gone a bit cold, but that you don’t really mind eating cause “Hey, who turns down a perfectly edible slice of pizza?”.

To be fair, EAC is a lot better than most people give it credit for. Sure, it’s not perfect, but no anti-cheat solutions are. As long as it’s up and running — it does the job.

Due to some recent technical server-related issues EAC had over the summer (2017) we’ve been getting a lot of questions about troubleshooting EAC errors. Not just from our own users at Challengermode, but also from players that don’t play on Challengermode… yet. Seems like everyone is coming to Challengermode for support these days 😎.

So in an effort to help both our own users and anyone using EAC on other sites or custom servers, I thought I’d make a quick how-to for installing and troubleshooting common EAC issues.

EAC Installation 🐻

This one is easy. If you have Steam installed, click this link to open and install EAC automatically. Or click here to download it from their site.

To locate EAC go to your “Library” in the Steam client and click on “Games” then change that to “Software” and you should see EAC there.

Now just simply run EAC before starting Counter-Strike!

EAC Troubleshooting guide

Sometimes, even when you follow the simple steps, starting EAC first and then the game you want to play, EAC just wont work. Don’t worry. Following these steps should fix the situation:

  1. Make sure you don’t have any other Anti-Cheat software running like ESL Wire.
  2. It’s possible that your anti-virus or firewall is interfering with EAC. Double check that EAC is whitelisted and that the necessary ports (port 80) are allowed.
  3. Try launching EAC and CS:GO via Steam directly, rather than via the link on Challengermode.
  4. If that doesn’t help please try the steps again but this time exit Steam altogether first. Optionally, also try restarting your computer, then start Steam, EAC and finally CS:GO.
  5. Lastly, make sure you’re not actually cheating… or have any kind of cheating software active on your computer. Go figure.

EAC Errors

Most common EAC Error is the Error 10011. For this you have to reinstall Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributable. Uninstall from Programs & Features in Windows and then download from Microsoft (Google is your friend.)

For other errors please visit EAC’s own Support page https://support.easyanticheat.net/

I hope this was informative. Enjoy playing on Challengermode! :)
